In today’s market there are many options and database solutions provider. Whether you want a small office-based database or a cloud-hosted solution to enterprise-level search online, there are literally thousands of options.

Clouds DBaaS desktop, server and Web-enabled: The four major types of databases.

Can access most of the solutions or the publication on the web, but all are not really web-based or real-time online. For most, office solutions are a personal or very small (less than 10 employees) option. In situations where only a few people need access to data or data set must be kept out of public networks (such as financial information), then a desktop solution is often the way forward. Assuming that no remote access is required.

Web-enabled databases are almost always based on the server, but the database server are not always compatible web. Therefore, these two are separated. Server-based solutions can be completely closed intranets, which are not accessible from the outside world. Or they may be restricted in their access via the web – for example, allow users to retrieve data or a summary published as an information graphic, but not really full access to view or manipulate the data themselves, if they do not have the strength in- network connected. Web-enabled databases, on the other hand, are generally completely via the World Wide Web.

DBaaS cloud is a Web-enabled solution or server, but it is sold as a service (database as a service) that is not owned or controlled by the company using the database. This is another popular option for outsourcing allows companies to minimize costs for all dba needs access to high-end technology for their needs data.

Along with these four types of database, there are a variety of storage options, DB supported languages ??(eg SQL, and its multitude of reports) are solutions of data integrity and delivery of commercial or open source. In addition to all this comes from the server options as well, if they are almost always other options, rather than a stand-alone option for themselves.

Mostly looking for a solution of database management (DBMS), the number of options can seem overwhelming. Fortunately want is the kind of data you have and how to be able to access and manipulate it will significantly reduce the field of candidates. Unfortunately, this does not necessarily mean that your decision will be cut and dried. In addition, or with many options available to you in your new database might not be conducive to a useful, cost-effective solution.

The three points that you need to put on the table to reduce the field to be completely independent of the type of database you are considering have are:

First How much data you have now and how much you want to have next year, in three years and five years on the road?

Second What kind of security you need and you think this will change over time? Safety has some safety precautions as well to be facilitated to plan.

Third Do you work for a specific requirement for the platform, such as the ability to use multiple operating systems, languages, human or computer, etc.?

The answer to these three questions, you are your best options for your DBA needs. Leaving any of these questions unanswered or ambiguous meaning you are probably too much or not a solution, which is not a good fit and get a lot of tweaking and upgrading require costly over time.

Have a major concern when migrating your site to a new hosting provider or domain, the impact of migration on SEO. If done correctly, can devastate a site migration page ranking for quality and recreation make a time-consuming and costly process of search engine optimization.

Migration from one site to another hosting provider or IP address is a simple task in relation to the maintenance page rank. As the site URL remains unchanged, Page Rank of a website should not be affected when switching hosting companies or changing IP address to be on site. Recommended steps to this process is complete:

Installation and configuration of a web environment for the new server with the new hosting provider, or IP address.

Install a duplicate site on the web server environment. Test the new web site for a host name, make sure the temporary hosting account is working properly.

Once testing is complete, update domain records on the host site for the new IP address redirect. DNA 24-48 hours to complete the replication over the Internet can, so this change may not be immediate.

Testing the new DNS name resolution, make sure site visitors to the new website will be redirected.

Once you verified that the search engines index the pages on the new site have (again, it may take up to 48 hours), you can safely uninstall the old site.

This process is much less critical to the rank of SEO and the page that the process of migrating a site to a new domain name and others. Must special precautions are taken when moving a site to a new domain, so that visitors know where to find the site and its contents to know, and so the search engines to dynamically change the contents of the indexed page on the point of this new site content .

When migrating to a new domain, a site running on the platform of the Apache Web server, use the 301 redirect to ensure that the ranking of your page is maintained after the migration site. A 301 redirect is the most effective method of moving and redirect search engine friendly Web sites and related web pages to a new domain, and includes the processing of the Apache. Htaccess so that both visitors and search engines are notified and will be redirected to the site a new website.

To a 301 as part of a domain migration to add site, search for the Apache htaccess file in the root directory of the website, and add the following lines at the beginning of the file .. htaccess:

# Options + FollowSymLinks

RewriteEngine on

RewriteRule ^ (. *) $ {Domain} / $ 1 [R = 301, L]

Once the change to the file. Htaccess will be prepared and recorded, testing redirection by accessing a link or a page on the old website domain. Each visited page on the old domain should be automatically redirected to the appropriate page on the new domain.

Together as a further step for website operators use Google Analytics, has informed this site useful statistics and analysis tool that the site be moved to a new domain. In the dashboard Webmaster Google Analytics, click the old domain, expand Configuration site, located on the left side of the interface and click on “Change of Address”. Enter the new domain site, and send the change. When completed, Google will be notified of the decision on the spot. Google will now index the URL of the page, while indexing the corresponding URL for the old domain.

Agreement and draft a communication plan

Make sure you spend time writing the first draft of your communication plan early in the process. The sooner, the better rule of thumb is, but make sure that all of the main body of the document is complete, you are also able to make changes at the last minute to unexpected changes to reflect schedules that most often can be changed and by the network operator, either.

Audit your database

Make a complete picture of your database. You need to know who that device, the devices were not used for a longer period can be as you think they do not separate take them into a new contract period, and finally have a database with addresses of users for the new SIM card delivery , unless you are able to all users in a number of central offices or small. An audit is an essential element to ensure that you take your equipment with new jobs that you actually need. This is even more critical when you subscribe to a number of devices you have in your database such as iPhone, Blackberry or data cards to win.

Unlock codes

First of all, remember that it may take up to 28 days to receive your registration codes from your old network provider! Make sure you are released as soon as possible, and make sure that your users a way to communicate back to you, that their devices have been unlocked. You need to project this information, you manage your migration so that your day goes off without a hitch port. Make sure your budget for new equipment at this stage, you have some devices that are too old to move into a new contract period, your migration process is an ideal time to remove these older devices from your starting point.

Get your PAC code (UK)

Remember, again, it may take up to 28 days to get your PAC code. You can delay this by maintaining your relationship with your former provider network, so you agree that you meet the conditions of your contract with them to improve. Are you planning to migrate to your needs and does not match that of your new network, make sure to complete sufficient internal resources to the project, which not only try an acceptable number of migration on a day that many in one day, and finally not to migrate to users on a Monday or Friday.

Porting of data

To inform development of a strong communication plan for users of the date of their migration, via a central source of information f migration, an intranet is ideal for this. Make sure your communications are ready to send to all users and to provide an account for users on vacation for the holidays or sick, or outside the country of migration data may be.

Information on the SIM card receipt

The development of a method for users to confirm they have received their new SIM card, another intranet site is ideal for this purpose that all messages in a central location that is tailored for each user performed n ‘Remember, it may be difficult to get a different SIM to a user on their journey time, if they did not receive the SIM card and legally recognized.

Change of address

Make sure all users who check between your address and the date of migration can log in, make sure you have a centralized and robust method to capture this detail, you must give at least 5 days before networks announced changes the address

Date of migration

Make sure all users have a contact person on the day of the walk, there should be problems and obtain, if possible, the support of the office network, especially if your VIP are involved. After migration information members hold other new policy areas such as mobile and voice instructions and new instructions, if combined use of smart phones or blackberries need for the first time.

If you build a plan around these important points, and add more detail you need for your business, there is no reason for the migration should not be a success, and you have no reason to fear the move.

Simon is an experienced consultant who has worked in most facets of mobile communications handset manufacturers, circuit-transport layer, data switching and the provision of broadcasting time, where he spent nearly 10 years as sales manager and head of business unit for O2 .

Give air time for large corporate clients gave an amazing insight Simon both have to be achieved by the network transmission time and the complexity of managing hundreds of enterprise organizations through mobile.

I was given the task of assessment and the end of my hike to the 2010 exchange organization. Before I started the hike, I did some research to find out whether the move was from Exchange 2007 to Exchange 2010 is worth the switch. In my opinion, offers better options for your Exchange 2010 organization, because it makes the management of e-mail even more flexible and reliable.

Exchange 2010 migration would seem to provide options for high availability and increased E-mail security, protection and integrated information secure access from anywhere. New security models on wheels and self-service basis, and the group of new foreign exchange controls have the Exchange infrastructure management, improved productivity and simplifies the user administrator. Exchange 2010 offers a 70% reduction in I / O compared to Exchange 2007. This allows greater flexibility of deployment and enables better utilization of existing storage infrastructure.

The decision that an Exchange 2010 migration was necessary, it was time to find a way without additional risk, cost and complexity to migrate in the process. I was not really about the time needed to perform the upgrade, but how the migration would end users, such as downtime, data loss, interruptions in the implementation of policies relating to, and cost.

My solution for our Exchange 2010 migration was in the cloud. With a cloud solution my organization integrated safeguards, and deliver answers to all my possible transfer. It significantly reduces the initial cost, while giving me the foreseeable costs. A cloud solution eliminates the complexity, providing quick access to process documents and e-mail data, reduces security risks, increased productivity and organizational flexibility in the face of my.

During the migration, I was asked to break a working system and replacing it with Exchange 2010. This process is of course my organization with an increased chance of downtime, e-mail, resulting in problems such as reduced employee productivity, customer dissatisfaction, lost business and reputation. To avoid these problems, I implemented email archiving, continuity and security services.

The first step I took in our Exchange 2010 migration was e-mail archiving. To e-mail archiving in the cloud is available provided a backup for the server, providing a secure, central location for end users instant access to e-mail.

Then I set up e-mail service continuity. Do you have my email continuity organization given me the opportunity to migrate to exchange 2010, every time, instead of migrating in the early morning hours or on weekends. Continuity with e-mail archiving service combined made available to end users to access the e-mail during the migration fails.

The final step in our process of migrating from Exchange 2010 was to establish a security service. Our central security platform protects our new Exchange Server 2010 against data leakage, internal and external threats. He know immediately protected against risks, minimizes false alarms and the priority of our good e-mail.

Now that our Exchange 2010 migration is complete, I could not be happier. The migration process was not always as difficult and expensive, and cloud computing solution certainly the reason why these problems occur. Simplify e-mail architecture, the implementation of e-mail security E-mail archiving, the creation of e-mail continuity, and the increase can be solved by all the risks associated with the migration of Exchange in 2010 . I recommend migrating to Exchange 2010 after the previous steps.

2007 migration? Of course, if you are looking for new features that would be a
for good reason. Perhaps your mailbox Exchange 5.5 or Exchange 2000 box or overloaded
They have a secure server? Then, the migration would be an excellent choice, instead of being
Money in the server known as a box and this money into a new
Software technologies that help your business grow.

Microsoft has some of its promise to offer new products and kept
Cents per gigabyte, you can now do more with less.

Exchange 5.5 was the first
E-mail servers from Microsoft, which was really ready for prime time. At least in the back
POP3 and SMTP day when all the rage. Soon went to Microsoft Active
Directory and integration of e-mail users and was the next big step. Of course, they
important additional functions such as Outlook Web Access or OWA server and made more
and secure.

Exchange Server 2000 has come and
Microsoft has integrated its product portfolio with a product touted Active Directory or
OD. Users can now discover the wonders of OWA, AD, Group Policy and a
more private information. What more could you want.

Exchange Server 2003 was still
Another success for the software giant Microsoft. This means not only
Active Directory-integrated, but it has some really useful features, such as
Cache mode, integration with mobile PDA phones, and more reliable
To save. This combined with Exchange Server messaging client from Microsoft
Outlook 2003 has given them a solid product. OWA looks the same, the local client
Outlook 2003. Spam is stronger and out of the box, the product
Competition with Oracle, Novell, Linux, etc. No, come what may even Microsoft
with?

In Exchange Server 2007, you can
Inbox critical information from virtually anywhere using their desktop
Computer, laptop computer, a browser window from any Internet connection
Computers, mobile devices, and even with a basic phone in the absence of the Internet
Connectivity is available. Everything is built in with centralized management and
robust security makes rich anywhere access possible. Exchange Server 2007
provides integrated antivirus, anti-spam and anti-phishing technologies.
Multi-faceted message filtering in the perimeter network is
The Edge Transport server role. Exchange Server 2007 includes features
specifically designed to meet your business with corporate, regulatory,
and statutory requirements. Better management through a new command-line interface
allows administrators complete, fine-grained control over Exchange objects as
and the power to easily automate all types of operations with scripts. In
In addition, the graphical management console has been completely updated, with a
intuitive user interface, improved the opportunity to learn and a toolbox work
the diagnosis, monitoring and troubleshooting tools integrated
including the Exchange Best Practices Analyzer and Troubleshooting Exchange
Deputy.

As you can see Microsoft has the tools you more and more functions
Work with and compete with what will be the perfect reason to migrate
Exchange 2007
